    Corrective Exercise

Balanced posture, core stabilization, pain free movement and a solid foundation!

This phase of training focuses on re-establishing-
posture, biomechanics, core stabilization, balanced physiology  and breaking old faulty movement patterns.  In this phase we also focus on eliminating chronic injuries locating and releasing the root causes of chronic pain.

How does a body become un-balanced?
    SPORT/ACTIVITY SPECIFIC IMBALANCES

Sports or activities that we spend hours doing create adaptations and postural changes in the body.    Some muscles become long and weak while others become short and tight.  The postural and biomechanical changes created by the short and/or long muscles increases wear and tear on your joints and increases the  risk of injury.  When these imbalances are ignored, pain and inflammation is created in the body.    Living in a body that is out of balance is like riding a bike with wheels that are bent.  The the faster and harder you ride the bike and ignore the bent wheels, the faster the bike breaks down.  Your body responds the same way over time.  For this reason, corrective exercise is key in preventing injury, improving health and performance.

    Stress and Physiologic Overload
Physical, mental, emotional and environmental stresses can take their toll on us on a daily basis.  The sum amount of stress we incur each day is referred to as our physiologic load and ultimately determines how well we function from the inside out.  In the corrective exercise phase we will determine your personal physiologic load.  Your personal corrective program is designed based on this load to facilitate achieving your goals.

As we eliminate chronic injuries, improve posture and movement patterns,  we phase into fitness, sport specific and performance  training.
