Heather Kennedy has been in the fitness industry over 15 years. Her background includes considerable skills in the following disciplines: biomechanics, yoga, martial arts and spinning. Her treatment approach embraces the person holistically, while focusing on health, integrity and accountability. She is highly motivated to use these skills to guide clients to their most optimum level of health and well-being. Heather consults and trains individuals for injury rehabilitation, weight loss, nutrition, fitness/athletic goals, overall health and wellness. She has a great understanding of postural alignment and biomechanics. Her desire to combine the whole person led her to study and teach the martial arts, achieving her 2nd degree black belt. Then onto yoga, where she studied many years under a Swami Jiyananda and now brings the gifts of her studies to her clients. She has also written for Mass Golfer regarding the biomechanics of exercising for golf.
Heather has a keen interest in increasing her knowledge base within the dynamic fitness industry. Attending several professional seminars and classes yearly.
As a competitive sailor on the east coast, she was a member of the Piscataqua Sailing Association in NH and US Sailing. She raced in weekly local series and also competed in races along the coast from Falmouth, ME to Marblehead, MA. Also, completed 2 cross Atlantic sailings on a 46' foot Amel as a 1st mate.
She is an avid skier, loves to road bike, mountain bike, hike and snowshoe. Has a great sense of adventure and has recently taken up dirt biking and motorcycle riding. She is also in the process of getting her private pilots license, which she says is a total thrill!
